All Seasons Apple Orchard

Yesterday we briefly stopped by All Seasons Apple Orchard. They had several other Fall activities to do for little kids but we didn't have much time. We plan on going back soon. Instead we took a hayride to the apple orchards and pick three bags full of apples.  It was a lot of fun!!

Happy 7th Anniversary

Seven years ago on this day I married my best friend Frank Schoen. It's been one of the best decisions that I could have ever made. It hasn't always been been an easy road, actually it has felt more like a crazy roller coaster ride. We moved twice, I purchased my first home, fought breast cancer together, Frank started up a new business. He blessed me with two beautiful children. He already has taught me so many life lessons along the way. I love having someone to share my life with and to have a shoulder to cry on when needed. I'm no longer feeling lonely and more complete. I'm so grateful for my temple marriage and wouldn't trade this guy in for the entire world.

Family Time

Sabrina and her family came over tonight for dinner. Everyone enjoyed holding baby Hunter. As you can tell in the picture baby Nolan is about to make his grand entrance into the world in about 3 more weeks. We can't wait to meet the newest member of the family.

How sweet!

Our Preschooler

Savannah started attending Sonshine Christian Preschool a week ago. She absolutely loves going to school. Everyday I ask her how school went and she replies that she "loves it" or it is "awesome". She tells me everyone in her class is her friend. She tells me every day that she learned "Everything". When I asked for more clarification she tells me what she learned that day. She has free time for an hour and a half, Bible story, craft time, music, weather, pledge of allegiance, and snack time. It just melts my heart that she just loves going to school. I hope this excitement continues for a while. Daddy took her on her first day. The parents were asked to come back 30 minutes early for story time and to see what they did during class that day. I will get to take her one day a week. I had an opportunity to see her in school this week.  We are so proud of our "little" preschooler!

Beach Day at Lake Geneva

For weeks now I have been wanting to go back to Lake Geneva with the family. I didn't want to go all by myself with the two kids (safety reasons). Needless to say this morning I failed to remember about all the Labor Day festivities going on. It has been a tradition of mine to always attend the Labor Day parade in Schaumburg and then head over to Septemberfest. I didn't remember until it was too late. I was just going to enjoy a relaxing day at home. It quickly turned into me wanting to make some more memories with the kids. I tried talking Frank into going up to Wisconsin but he wasn't feeling too good. He slept on his back the wrong way and was in a lot of pain. He was interested in going up with us but ended up staying home to rest his back. He volunteered to watch the baby so I made a last minute effort to head up to Lake Geneva with Savannah. We had a great time playing in the water and sand. She made a couple of friends at the beach. We built sand castles together, sand angels and she had no problem walking all the way into the water. We stayed for a good three hours and then headed back home.
