The Rosemont Lights

I had an opportunity to spend some qualify time with Savannah. Everyone else had gone away this weekend. I attempted to bring her to see the Rosemont lights last year but she got sick in the car and had to go back home. She fell asleep in the car which turned out great because she really needed a nap. When she woke up we had finally reached our destination and was amazed with what she saw outside the window. We looked at all the decorated houses and Christmas lights. It is quite a sight to see while driving down the expressway during this time of the year. It was a balming 36 degrees outside and we were both freezing cold. I carried Savannah around to keep us both warm and than we visited the petting zoo. Afterwards we drove around the neighborhood to see more Christmas lights.

Ginger Bread House

Last night at Bed, Bath and Beyond I picked up a gingerbread house. Savannah insisted upon just getting the Hello Kitty Edition. She was so excited and really looking forward to putting the house together. Right away I noticed that one of the roof panels were broken. I used the hot glue gun to mend the crack and than when I started putting frosting on the house the frosting bag broke. I was really getting annoyed at this point. I attempted to make homemade frosting and that was too runny and I couldn't get the right consistency. I apparently don't know what I'm doing. I should have just used the frosting that was sitting in the fridge. I just thought it might be too hard to use since it was cold. Needless to say I ended up using the homemade frosting. It was a runny drippy mess. Here is the final product. At least Savannah had fun with this project.

Kohl's Children Museum

Today we headed over to the Kohl's Children Museum. This was the first time visiting for me and my parents. Savannah had been there once before with the babysitter. The museum was very nice and had lots to see and do for kids. It was a hands on museum for kids between the ages of 2-5 years old.  We could barely keep track of Savannah. She was running around the exhibits so fast that we nearly lost her. She was being difficult to leave the house this morning but as soon as we arrive she had a blast. We stayed a few hours and than went out to lunch to a Chinese buffet. We didn't get to see quite everything but we all had fun. We were all exhausted by the time we left.
Good memories!!

Thanksgiving Day

This year my parents came up a for a week long visit to see our new house and to have Thanksgiving dinner. Frank worked late Wednesday night and after he came home he stayed up all night baking pies and getting all prepped to cook our Thanksgiving feast. Needless to say he only received about two hours of sleep. He cooked all day long and we ended up having way too much food. We had a great day cooking together and the meal turned out awesome! I attempted to make deviled eggs which ended up being a nightmare. I overcooked the the eggs and couldn't peel off the shell so I ended up just making egg salad. Lesson learned - don't overcook the eggs.

Pumpkin Carving

Savannah didn't like getting her hand dirty
All I could find at the grocery store were these little pumpkins
Little Miss scooping out the seeds with a spoon
This was her attempt to get the seeds out of the pumpkin without getting dirty
Mommy had to finish the job
Savannah trying to put the cutout pieces back into the pumpkin
                                                                  Finished product

Work Halloween Party

This is Savannah's favorite doll right now since she is really into Cinderella. She carries her around like she is her baby. Aunt Jenny did an awesome job on the costume!
Getting ready to sing karaoke which never ended up happening because we were missing the cord that connects to the video
Getting all excited to start the trick or treating in the office
All smiles and this bowl was filled to the Max by the time we left the party
                                                      Looking for even more candy
Can't decide on which candy to eat first
Sorry dad I'm the boss now
Going door to door collecting all her goodies
Savannah wasn't even scared to see what was behind the curtain

Cooking with Daddy

Frank wanted to cook a turkey for dinner today. Here is Savannah starting to help daddy in the kitchen. She just loves to helping whenever she can.
