Ten for Tuesday

1. Sarah headed out to Girl's Camp and had a great time with her friends. This year one of the girls found head lice in her hairbrush so they had to check all the girls at camp and apparently they found three girls who had the head lice. They had to remove them and wash and shampoo everything in the camp. This infected girl was in Sarah's cabin. I'm happy to hear that my daughter didn't get head lice.

2. Frankie had a friend come over for a visit and they headed down to the pool.

3. On Wednesday he was picked up by a church friend and she drove him over to her house for a quick visit. She has a stepson too and the boys just played video games.

4. My oral infection has improved since last week and I believe it is all gone. I still have a few more days of the medication. I hope I don't get sick again this week with my last chemo treatment.

5. Sarah and I are headed to our playgroup today. I'm excited to see my friends new baby boy Preston.

6. Frank and Frankie went and did some home teaching on Sunday afternoon.

7. Our home teachers came over for a surprise visit. It was really nice to get to know them. Brother Topea is orginally from Hawaii and was really funny and just a nice guy.

8. Frankie and I went to a Schaumburg Flyers baseball game. One of Frankie's friends from Wonder Lake happened to be there and they had a great time. The home team lost!

9. On Sunday we were reunited with a friend that had fallen away from the church and had come back. It was nice to see him again.

10. Ok I ran out of things to say...kind of a boring week.

Ten for Tuesday

1. I came down with an oral yeast infection and felt miserable all week long. I developed thrush in my mouth. The doctor called me in a prescription and it has taken me longer to overcome my illness. My immune system must be really low. I have taken much longer to overcome my last chemo treatment. I not looking to my last chemo treatment next week.

2. On Sunday morning I woke up for church and while I was getting the baby ready had to run to the bathroom. I felt pukey all of a sudden. Afterwards I felt better but still a little bit tired. I went to church for sacrament however I had to leave after the first hour due to fatigue and tiredness.

3. I neglected to realize that I was out of baby formula and I had to break the Sabbath and make a run to the store to pick up some food for the baby.

4. On Friday night the kids went over to their mother's house.

5. Frank and I went out to dinner to La Magdalena's. I really enjoyed going out however I didn't care too much for the dish that I had ordered. I just picked at it and my mouth was hurting so I didn't really enjoy eating.

6. Afterwards Frank and I took Savannah to go see the movie "The Proposal". I really liked the movie. I had to keep getting up to attend to the baby.

7. On Saturday I mostly stayed at home to rest from my illness. In the evening hours I went over to a friends house and we went shopping and than came back and watched the movie " Marley and Me". I really didn't care for movie.

8. Sarah left for Girl's Camp yesterday and was really excited.

9. Frankie invited a friend over to play with him since his sister is out of town.

10. My tomatoe plants are growing really big and we have been enjoying our herb garden. Thanks Daddy!

Ten for Tuesday

1. I went in for my third chemo treatment. This time was a little harder on my body and took me longer to recover. I had a good appointment and all went smoothly. This time I didn't have as much help and I overwhelmed myself. I will rely more on the church members to help me out next time.

2. Savannah went in for her 2 month doctor appointment. Her visit went well with the doctor. She weighed in at 10 lbs 10 oz and is now 23 inches long. She is in the 50percentile for weight and 75% for height. She must take after her mommy.

3. Frank and I invited Sabrina and the kids over to celebrate Elena's 3rd birthday. My husband cooked his homemade Italian gravy. While he was cooking dinner the rest of us went swimming. It was fun to take the grandkids to the pool. Sarah had made a birthday cake for her neice and she had a really neat birthday candle in the shape of a flower that opens up and sings Happy Birthday. The petals had candles on them and the middle section had a sparkler going off. It was pretty cool!

4. I realized Girls Camp doesn't start until next week. I will have to keep Sarah for an extra week of summer fun.

5. This summer has been just perfect and not too hot. One of the coolest summers thus far.

6. I helped Heather return a bunch of items from the wedding that she didn't either want or need. She took a load over to Wings to donate.

7. On Monday the kids and I headed over to a friends house for a day of swimming. I was brave enough to take off my hat and went for a little swim. It felt good to go under the water and truly cool off. My baby girl and I hung out in the pool and she really enjoyed the water. She just sat in her float and swam around.

8. Frankie managed to get his shirt stolen from the pool. I think someone accidently picked it up since he just layed it down on some random table.

9. We met a new family at church and I took the kids over to play video games and Sarah learned quiliing and had a free piano lesson.

10. I took the baby into work to show her off. It was really good to see everyone again! I'm looking forward to getting back to work around Christmas time.

4th of July Bash

This year we celebrated the 4th of July fireworks up at the Great Lakes Naval Base. The weather had taken a turn for the worse and rained all day and than became cold at night. This was the first time EVER that I was cold at the fireworks. I think we had a high of 68 degrees this day. The mosquitos were out in full force so we had to purchase some bug spray to tolerate being outside. We played around in the park before the fireworks began. We enjoyed a nice bbq during the day with some friends. The baby seemed to really enjoy the fireworks. She was up way past her bedtime and was ready to leave towards the very end of the show.

Growing Baby

Here is recent picture of baby Savannah. She is almost two months old and is growing like a weed. She is starting to hold her head up more and sleeping better at night. She is a very good baby and is very low maintanence.

Eleven on Wednesday

1. One of my best friends Heather took out her endowments on Wednesday. I had gone to Frank's office during the day to help him with some work. I was planning on leaving around 5pm to go home and get ready. Sarah's friend slept over and they went to Young Woman's together. They did a bike scavenger hunt and nearly died being in the heat.

2. I had to leave the baby with Frank since I didn't have a babysitter. He asked me to stay for 20 more minutes so he could do an interview. To my surprise it took 40 minutes and I was running terribly late to the temple. I barely had time to even stop by the house. Sarah met me outside with my temple bag and a black skirt. I didn't even have time to eat anything.

3. I bolted out of there and rushed down the highway. I managed to make it to the temple 10 minutes before the 7 o'clock session. I quickly changed into my skirt and ran inside. I asked them to hold on so that I could get dressed and make it into the session. I had just barely made it before they started. I was very embarrassed and fustrated.

4. On Thursday I took the kids swimming and I tried taking Savannah in the water with me. She didn't like the cold water so we just hung out by the pool and visited with a neighbor whom I met who is around my age. That evening my husband came home late from work and we packed up the house and left for Nauvoo. We arrived around 4am. My friend had rented a small house that was built in the 1800's. Frank and I had to share a twin bed. That was not fun!

5. We attended the marriage and that was beautiful. The bride took a long time to come out and everyone was dying in the heat. Once she arrived we went and took pictures. Afterwards we went to the ring ceremony. The weather was very hot and we were all dying from the heat and humidty. The ceremony was held outside in the shady woods.

6. We attended a nice dinner afterwards and than left to come back home. Frank accidently ran over a baby bunny who ran out in front of him while he was driving. We took 5 1/2 hours to get back home. We ran into terrible traffic when we made it back to Chicago. The construction we ran into took forever to get thru. They only had one lane opened which ended up being a nightmare.

7. The next day we attended the wedding reception in the stake center. The food was delicious and we had a great time dancing. The guys went out and decorated the newlyweds car. The baby was having a hard time falling alseep so Frank took her back home. Sarah and I stayed up late to help clean up.

8. Frankie left for scout camp and will be gone for the whole week.

9. Sarah was invited out to see a movie. Her friends from church all went to see "Transformers". She seemed to like the movie although she told me there was too much swearing.

10. We invited the Zimmerman family over for dinner on Sunday evening.

11. Sarah and I went to my playdate with Savannah. It's always good to get together with friends and eat good food.
