Ten for Tuesday

1. I went to the doctor's for my second chemo treatment. The appointment took longer than expected because I had a sheath. This is a blood clot in my port. The nurse had to administer a special drug into my IV to break up the clot and to be able to draw my blood.

2. Sabrina came by this week to help me out while I was going through my treatment. She brought over her two kids Elena and Ricardo Jr. She was a big help around the house. She cooked and cleaned and played with the kids.

3. Frank went down to Atlanta for a business trip. He drove down there with a friend and enjoyed his stay. The weather was hot and he managed to tip over a canoe and got his cellphone and camera all wet. The cellphone is still working if you can believe that. The camera will probably need to be replaced. I hope he has learned his lesson.

4. Baby Savannah is growing like a weed. She is gaining weight and is now 11 pounds. She is starting to hold her head up more and more. She is starting to smile more each day.

5. I took the kids swimming in the pool. I was bummed I couldn't join them in the
water. I sat on the sidelines with Savannah and we just watched the kids have fun.

6. The weather has been really hot lately.

7. I went to my playdate with the baby and took Sarah along with me this time. We had yummy taco salad and dessert.

8. Sunday was Father's Day and we attended church and during Sunday School we went to a genealogy class. Frank is hoping to get more familiar with the new system. He really wants to be able to do his grandmother's work.

9. Frank invited his daughter Sabrina and kids over for dinner. We had a nice visit afterwards and watched some Disney movies.

10. I am helping Frank out around the office while I'm on short term disability. He needs an assistant to help him focus on other things in the business.

Ten for Tuesday

1. On Wednesday we picked up Frankie from his mother's house after they came back from St Louis.

2. Sarah had her graduation party on Friday night. She had a sleepover and only two friends showed up. Sarah was disappointed and didn't seem to really enjoy her party.

3. I went to pick up Sarah the next day and drove her over to the stake center for youth conference. This year the Schaumburg stake put on a dance festival. Sarah missed all of the rehearsals since she lives with her mother and transportation is an issue.

4. She was able to still attend the testimony meeting and dinner. She watched the performances and all the youth did a great job. I was very impressed with the whole night.

5. I finally got my short term disability approved. I was planning on taking the baby into work to show her off but was told to wait because the flu has been going around the office. Maybe next week will be better.

6. I met a woman in my new ward that also had breast cancer and is going through radiation treatments. She shared her story with me and has befriended me at church.

7. My new RS president and counselor came over on Monday for a visit.

8. I called my Ob Gyn and scheduled my final appointment. I failed to realize that I needed to call earlier and schedule one.

9. Frank and Frankie went and spent some time playing some catch in the baseball field next to our house.

10. Frank left today for Atlanta for another business trip. I will sorely miss him while he is away. I will have to get up at night to care for the baby. Sabrina will be coming over and staying for a few days to help me with the baby. I undergo my next chemo treatment tomorrow.

Ten for Tuesday

1. On Monday I started to lose my hair. I noticed it when I brushed my hair and I was pulling out more strands than normal. It was coming out from the roots. I'm afraid to touch my hair as it pulls out so easily. I was thinking about getting it cut short but am debating about just getting it all shaved off. I'm not sure it is worth the trouble of getting it cut. I will lose all of my hair in a weeks time:(

2. I went and purchased a chemotherapy wig and love my new look. I hope to have fun with this new look for a few months. I'm still trying to get the insurance to pay me back.

3. I had the worst doctor's appointment on Friday. I went to my annual allergy appointment and had to wait 1 1/2 to see the doctor. During the visit Savannah was sleeping and woke up and I fed her and I noticed she needed a diaper change. I asked the receptionist for the bathroom key and she told me that there was not a baby changing table and I asked to change her back in one of the examination rooms and they said NO. I had no choice but to take her out to my car. Apparently she wasn't done pooping and while I went to change her she started pooping and peeing all over me, herself and in my car. I was so upset and had a nightmare getting her all cleaned up. Once I was in with doctor I was told because I was on the chemo I would have to continue with my allergy shots for another year. The doctor was going to tell me that I just had a few more months to go before I could quit and now I have to prolong this because I am more prone for allergies and infections. Boo Hoo!

4. I took Savannah in for her one month doctor visit. She is growing very well and is healthy. She grew an inch and gained 2 pounds. She weighs 8lbs 14oz and 21 inches long. She didn't like the shot at the end of the visit. I don't blame her!

5. Frank attended his Super Saturday for WFG and won a couple of awards. His business continues to grow and is doing well financially.

6. We have officially moved into our new ward. We were running late to church and met a few new people. We miss our old ward and hope to be able to move back into the ward boundaries in the future.

7. I went out to Kohl's with my friend Jacki. I realized when I arrived that I forgot to bring a bottle and I had to walk down to Target to purchase a new bottle. I can't believe I did that. Afterwards I drove a short distance with the baby and realized that I forgot to strap Savannah into her carseat. I felt like the worst mom in the world on this day!

8. I went on a playdate today and had a great time visiting with my friends. I know Savannah is too small to play but it's still nice to get out of the house.

9. The kids went to Saint Louis this week for a short vacation with their mother. Frankie went to a Cardinals game.

10. On Sunday Frank and I went over to Wendy's house for dinner. We played Yahtzee afterwards and Frank won the game. We than watched a lame movie.

Sarah's Graduation

Sarah just graduated from Parkland Middle School last week. We are very proud of her all of her accomplishment thus far.

Hot Momma

Yesterday Frank and I went down to Lulu's Wiggin Out and purchased a new wig while I'm undergoing chemotherapy. I found out that the boutique I was referred by the hospital was out of network. I'm hoping to get some of my money back. All the places that Aetna recommended were for prostesis (limbs, etc...) I'm trying to get them to make an exception for me and cover the full 70% of the bill. Let me know what you all think of my new look.

Gift from Heaven

My precious angel turns 1 month old today

Ten for Thursday

1. I can't believe my baby girl is already a month old today. She is such a good girl and sleeps well at night. Last night she only woke up once. I kept her up at night and she allowed Frank to get a good night sleep finally. She normally is up twice a night which is pretty normal for her. I watch her during the day and Frank takes the night shift since he is up late anyways. I do miss my mom being here to help me though...I've been spoiled I guess

2. I took Savannah to get some professional pictures taken at Sears last week. She slept the entire photo shoot and I couldn't get her to wake for nothing. I went to pick up the pictures yesterday...Going out in the mail shortly

3. My family all drove/flew in from everywhere this past weekend. It was very nice to get to see everyone again. I miss not having my family closer to us. Lara and her family camped at Fish Lake Beach Resort. We celebrated Lara's 31st birthday at the campsite.

4. The family went swimming, fishing, hayride, and played on the beach. The kids had a great time! We even got rained on a couple of nights which made cooking dinner very interesting on Monday night. The hobo dinners were delicious dad!

5. Jenny, Barbara, and Mom all took the train down to Chicago to see the New Harry Potter exhibit at the Science and Industry museum. They had a great time!

6. I had my first chemo treatment and all went well. It was scary to me because I didn't exactly know what to expect. The room they make you sit is is very open and everyone gets their own chair and is hooked up to an IV machine. I don't care for seeing other people getting pricked with needles. I try to close my eyes or look away. The other dislike is the amount of time it takes to administer the chemo drugs into your body. I'm happy that I went ahead and got the mediport put in.

7. The doctor told me that I did great my first week and my blood count was good. No nausea and only some fatigue. I can expect to start losing my hair in 2 weeks. I went to a wig shop the doctor's office recommended to only find out that they are out of network. I had found a couple of cute wigs picked out and even put them on hold. I will have to start my search all over. I will take Sarah down to with me this time. She was excited about helping and even wanted to try some wigs on herself if they will let her. It's kinda nice to try different hair pieces and play around with colors.

8. I went out to lunch with my friend Jacki to Chili's. We had a nice visit and than she watched Savannah for me at the doctor's office.

9. We had the baby blessing on Sunday. The whole family had come out including some of Frank's family. They arrived late and missed the blessing. Frank was nervous seeing how this was his 1st time giving a baby's blessing.

10. We attended Sarah's 8th grade graduation at Parkland Middle School. She looked great and is happy to be leaving and move on to High School.

Cutest Baby Blanket in the World

Aunt Terri made the cutest baby's blanket in the world. I loved it and thought she did an excellent job picking out the fabric and putting the quilt together. Don't worry I know that she had a friend helping her. Baby Savannah is going to love this blanket when she is old enough to appreciate it!
