Devastating News

I went to my ob gyn doctor last Thursday for my yearly exam. I expressed my concerns about not receiving my period for the last 7 months since my last chemo treatment. The doctor had prescribed me Provera to help jump start my system. I had called my oncology doctor and he is out of town this week. I have decided to hold off until I can run it by him first. I also had a blood test and was supposed to get my results back today. I hadn't heard back from my doctor so I called around lunch time for an update. My doctor called me while I was hold with the receptionist in her office. The news came back not good! She told me that I was pre menopausal and it was because of the chemotherapy. She told me that my hormone levels were good however the damage has been done to my egg supply. That is why I haven't been receiving my periods monthly. I was absolutely devastated to hear this news. My childhood dream came to a screeching halt. She told me the medication she had prescribed will probably not work but I could still try it. She recommended I go and see a fertility specialist and she if they could run some more detailed tests. She is limited with her test results and thinks they may be able to see if they can give me better answers about my current health. I was really hoping to be able to have more children at least once more if possible. Please pray for me that I will hopefully be able to have more children. The doctor didn't say it was impossible but not too likely given my current circumstances. I'm very grateful for my daughter and grateful the cancer is gone. I just wish that it wouldn't cause me to go into menopause at the tender age if 33 years old. I will keep you posted!
