Ten for Thursday

1. On Tuesday I met with the oncologist and he discussed the type of cancer I had, treatment options and medical plan and went over any concerns we had about the next few months. It was very overwhelming and I'm not looking forward to chemo.

2. The doctor appointments still continue...I went to the breast surgeon and he discussed putting in a mediport to give the chemo injections through. He told me that I was healing very nicely from my breast surgery.

3. I was looking into getting a basinet for the baby so that my husband could return back to bed. He has been sleeping on the couch/recliner since the baby has been born and caring for her during the night to help me get my rest. I have a friend who is willing to loan me her basinet for a few months.

4. I went into the hospital to have the mediport put inside of me. I went in around 5:30 am and had the mini surgery a few hours later. The surgery went well and I have some tenderness just below my collar bone. I am starting to feel better now. The mediport sticks out more than I expected. The doctor told me that would happen since I'm skinny.

5. My mom and I went to enrichment last night. My mom made ravoili soup and we had fun visiting with everyone. I was invited to a play group every Tuesday with a bunch of young mothers from church. I'm excited about making new friends and building upon existing friendships.

6. I took Frank's car in for a RECALL on the Pontiac. The appointment was very short and my mom and I went to do a little window shopping while we waited.

7. Frank and I went to the Chicago temple to do a session. We arrive a little late and missed the 10am session. We were under some time constraints so we just spent time praying and walking around the temple grounds.

8. I met with the nurse in the oncologist office and she went over the chemo treatments and gave me a bunch of information to read through. Afterwards I met with a breast specialist at the hospital and she gave me a gift bag, books, and tons of brochures. It was very overwhelming and I could barely carry all the folders home. I'm starting to get a bunch of anxiety. I have my chemo treatments scheduled for May 27th.

9. I took baby Savannah to church and everyone was excited to meet her. She did great and just slept the whole time. I'm looking forward to seeing all of my family next week for the babies blessing on May 31st. We are having our membership records changed at the end of the month to Schaumburg.

10. I'm excited about the birth of Terri's baby boy Nathan Allen Griffith. We are looking forward to seeing pictures of the newest member in our family tree.
